Toy libraries and Play-focused organisations around the globe celebrate World Play Day on 28 May each year. The theme for 2022 is:
Rediscover play. Recover through play
Through play, toy libraries enable children, adults and the elderly to recover in difficult times. Play also builds resilience and allows us to connect with each other.
Join us as we unpack the ways in which play help us recover. We will share some tips and activities that you could use to recover, in your home life, for yourself or in your place of work.
We also have a guest Play therapist, Sulindi van Wyk, who will speak to us about a boardgame she has developed to help children’s socio-emotional development. She has used this game to help children manage their anxiety in the post-Covid world.
Attendance includes access to our World Play Day tips and ideas booklet.
