Join a Toy Library so your children can have the Right to Play!Cotlands is the toy library thought leader in South Africa, and we are saddened by the closure of the Hamleys toys store in the Mall of Africa. Closure of toy shops confirms that society does not understand how critically important play is for both children and adults.

Play is a connecting, de-stressing and joyful activity which is beneficial to your physical and mental health, and above all stimulates collaboration, creativity, communication and problem solving. In fact it increases all the 21st century skills needed, as was confirmed at this week’s first African Play Conference attended by 400 delegates from 20 African countries, and which was hosted by the Department of Basic Education, UNICEF, The Lego Foundation and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa.

The Toy Library Association of South Africa and Cotlands is hosting the 15th International Toy Library Conference from 9-13 July 2019 at Monash University in Ruimsig, Roodepoort. To register go to Cotlands.org. Visit your nearest toy library today!

Joburger
Ndlovu Youth Choir - A Chorus of African Song and Dance did an amazing job with their version of the South African national anthem, Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika 😍. An initiative to "unite the nation through song". It’s understandable that it’s chosen to be the BEST national anthem in the world 🌍!

Listen to their version of the National Anthem here.
